Memorial and Honorary Gifts
Giving a gift to St. Olaf College is a meaningful way to honor or memorialize the life of a special person. We offer a variety of ways to do so.
Making a memorial or honorary gift to the St. Olaf Fund
We will acknowledge all gifts to the St. Olaf Fund (which are included in class totals) and periodically provide the family with a list of names and addresses of those who have made such gifts. Those honored are notified of tributes as well. Simply indicate in the comments section of the giving page or on your check that the gift is memorial or honorary, and include the name and class year of the honoree.
Tree or Adirondack Chair
The Memorial Tree or Adirondack Chair Program at St. Olaf College is designed to commemorate deceased individuals or living honorees. The donor will make a contribution to the St. Olaf Fund, stipulating that it is a gift in memory of the deceased or in honor of a designee. The College will place a commemorative sign on the tree or chair, and guarantee perpetual maintenance or replacement if the tree dies or if the tree or chair needs to be replaced or moved due to new construction.
Designated Memorial Gifts
Make a gift to an endowment or fund that has been established for a specific purpose in the name of the person being honored or memorialized. We will acknowledge all gifts and periodically provide the family with a list of names and addresses of those who have made memorial gifts. A list of specific endowments and/or funds will be listed below when they are established.
