2013 Senior Campaign
Announcing a challenge!
President Anderson and his wife, Priscilla, believe in us, in our campaign, and in the power of a St. Olaf education.
They have offered, as a part of their annual giving to St. Olaf, to add $2,000 to our class gift every time we reach one of five significant benchmarks: 50% participation, 60%, 70% 80%, and 90% (our goal).
Every pledge matters, no matter the amount!
As of May 2, 2013
What is the Senior Campaign?
The Senior Campaign is a student-driven program that educates seniors about The St. Olaf Fund, and the importance of giving back to their alma mater. It asks all seniors to honor their time on campus, and make an impact by pledging to give to the St. Olaf Fund in the first year after graduation (between June 1, 2013 - May 31, 2014).
Senior Campaign Kick-Off
The seniors-only kick-off event for the Senior Campaign with President Anderson was in the Pause on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, from 5-7 p.m. Seniors who made a pledge to The St. Olaf Fund received a Senior Campaign t-shirt. If you were unable to attend the event and want a t-shirt - make your pledge today and we'll put your t-shirt in your PO.
What are the goals?
Leah Pye and Joshua Woolfolk, the campaign chairs, have set the bar high - 90% participation and $13,013. Every 7 pledges will raise the percentage roughly 1 point. The Class of 2007 and the Class of 2005 are tied for holding the senior campaign participation record of 83%.
Your gift, your way!
The St. Olaf Fund is a flexible, donor-centric approach to fundraising for current support. Annual gifts enhance the college’s priorities and, if desired, may be directed to enrich particular programs, departments, or initiatives.
Your participation is essential
Gifts to The St. Olaf Fund are used to support the annual operating expenses of the college-financial aid, faculty salaries, books, computers and lab equipment, and so much more. The percentage of alumni who donate annually is indicative of alumni satisfaction. Every gift increases our percentage, and helps show the world you valued your time on the Hill.
What is the history of the campaign?
The Senior Class Campaign program started in 1987 and has grown significantly. Check out how other classes gave over the years.
Why the free t-shirt and food?
T-shirts and food help create a buzz. Seniors recognize the t-shirts, and first-years, sophomores and juniors will ask questions. The bigger the buzz, the better the understaning of the importance of the Senior Campaign. It’s our hope that years from now you will still wear your shirt and will remember the importance of philanthropy and the importance of The St. Olaf Fund.
